The Weathershield HD Car Cover keeps water out, and is breathable enough to let any water inside of it dry and release. Developed primarily for intense sun environments and long-term storage, WeatherShield HD not only provides UV opacity, it repels water, blocks dust, tree sap and bird droppings, and is still breathable to allow moisture and heat to escape from under the cover.
The base material for WeatherShield HD is woven by Glen Raven Mills (makers of Sunbrella®), using solution dyed UV resistant polyester fibers (see insert below to learn why solution dyed fabrics are better - courtesy of Glen Raven Mills). Not only is the fabric solution dyed, the 300 denier construction is 40% heavier than regular WeatherShield and the heavier denser thread provides double the tear and tensile strength.
- Naturally Moisture Resistant - Acid rain, industrial pollutants, tree sap and bird droppings will not harm the fabric.
- Dries Easily - Moisture is not absorbed by the fabric fibers.
- Breathable - Allows air to circulate through the fabric.
- Dust / Pollution Barrier - The two middle layers of melt-blown fabric act as a filtration barrier against most airborne pollutants.
- Impact Absorption - 4-layer thickness absorbs impacts better than any other vehicle cover fabric to help protect the finish from nicks, dings, dents and scratches.
This cover is MACHINE WASHABLE! That's right! Gone are the days or leaving a dirty cover lying across the drive-way to dry all day, now you can wash and dry your Car Cover in your regular machine, saving time and effort.
The Weathershield HD Cover comes only in grey. This was a conscious choice made because of the color's ability to remain cool in sunlight and show less dirt.
Weathershield HP Car Cover Cleaning Instructions
For general cleaning, spray off the cover with the water hose while it is on the vehicle. Allow it to air dry. To spot clean stains, spray the spot with Simple Green All Purpose Cleaner. Agitate the spot lightly with a sponge and rinse.
It’s a good idea to wash the entire cover periodically, though the exact frequency depends on how often you use the cover and in what conditions. Put the cover in a large commercial washer without an agitator. Pour a ¼ cup of Simple Green into the washer and allow it to fill. Then put the cover in. Run the cover through two rinse cycles to be sure all the cleaner is removed.WeatherShield and FormFit covers can be dried on regular heat in a dryer, or Air Dried.
You may also clean the inside of the cover by turning it inside out on the vehicle. Mix one ounce of Simple Green per quart of warm water and spray it onto the cover. Rinse thoroughly until no suds are visible. Air dry.
The Weathershield HP Car Cover comes with a 5 year warranty.

We utilize UPS, Fedex, and USPS for all of our shipping needs. Carrier choice is based upon availability and needs of the customer and is the sole discretion of SouthernCarParts. We always try to ship within 24 hours of order placement (do to the custom nature of some products, shipping within 24 hours is impossible, actual shipping time frames will be listed in the product description). Please keep in mind that some products such as Custom Fit Car Covers, Lloyds Floor Mats, Painted accessories, and Racemesh Products can take 3 -10 days to ship and are charged at time of order placement. Racemesh products take 4 weeks to ship as they are made to order.
Returns
Should you need to return a part for refund, exchange, or credit, please contact our returns department within 30 days of purchase at orders@southerncarparts.com for a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Most problems, such as installation, can be solved with a telephone call (888-631-1433). Southern Car Parts will not accept returned goods without prior authorization and an RMA# written clearly on the exterior of the box. The customer is responsible for freight on all return orders. Parts authorized to be returned, on a non-exchange basis, are subject to a 20% restocking fee. Returns will only be accepted within 30 days of the original date of shipment. Custom painted parts - Once these parts are started, we can refund you less the paint(chemicals) that have been used. Exception is rear spoilers and front splitters, we can refund less 20%.
Custom-made-to-order items are NOT returnable. This includes embroidered floor mats, interior embroidered items, and car covers.
Damages in Shipping
All damages from shipping must be reported to Southern Car Parts within two business days from tracking number delivery confirmation. After two business days, damages become the responsibility of the customer.
