C5 Corvette Brembo GT Front Brake Kit

We all want massive HP and acceleration for our Corvette. 0-60 and quarter mile times are a metric every Corvette C5 (including Corvette Z06 and Z51) owner knows and wants to improve on their car. But what about stopping, 60-0? The Stock Corvette brakes are awesome for the street and good on the track, but with moderate track use, the stock Corvette C5 brakes will start to suffer from fade, increased pedal travel, and get a spongy feel. Every other aspect of the car is track ready right off the showroom floor. If you are going to be taking your Corvette C5 to the track, upgrading the brakes is a must.

Each Kit comes complete with  

• Brembo calipers with anti-rattle clips
• High-performance street/autocross pads by Ferodo are preloaded in the calipers

• Floating McLaren hardware, originally designed for the road-going McLaren supercar, is used to secure the hat to the disc

• Please note, some applicatations may require wheel spacers depending upon wheel offset and clearance.

Six Piston Brembo Calipers (Black, Red, Yellow, or Silver)
Size of your choosing, 2-Piece Rotors (Choice of Drilled or Slotted)

->Not all rotors sizes fit behind OEM wheels. Make sure you know what size wheels you will be using before choosing your rotor size. As a "general" rule, the rotor size should be no more than 4" below what your wheel size is. For example, 19" Wheels, rotor size should not be bigger than 15" or 380mm.

The Brembo GT (Gran Turismo ) line is dedicated to the most demanding customers. This braking system originates from the Racing components, consisting of a ventilated, integral or composite disc, available drilled or slotted, 4, 6 and 8 piston aluminum calipers, a complete set of high-performance brake pads, metal braid tubes and high-quality small parts.

6. Four, Six or Eight Piston Cast Aluminium Calipers: Provide maximum braking force without the flex of sliding calipers.
Comparison between floating 2-piece and 1-piece discs The floating disc mounting system, due to the aluminum alloy hat, reduces the “unsprung” weight for better handling and reduces heat-related stress: the mounting system is designed to allow a specific amount of float in both radial and axial directions.

Brembo has engineered special springs that are used on every other fastener in order to slightly preload the assembly. This has been done to prevent excessive noise from the system during street use. The one-piece discs (both for the Sport and GT lines) are specifically designed in the goose-neck area to minimize thermal distortion and thus disc warping under severe use conditions. The one-piece discs provide excellent stopping power ranging from everyday traffic conditions to more spirited high-performance driving and fit into the budget of any enthusiast.
